WASHINGTON — The Washington Nationals welcome the Baltimore Orioles to town for a three-game series Tuesday and welcome reliever Kelvin Herrera to an already formidable bullpen.

The Nationals struck far in advance of the trade deadline Monday Connor Williams Jersey , acquiring the Kansas City Royals’ closer for three minor leaguers. Herrera is 14-for-16 in save opportunities this year with a 1.05 ERA.

The 28-year-old right-hander joins a late-inning group that includes set-up men Ryan Madson, 38, Brandon Kintzler, 33, and closer Sean Doolittle, 31.

“For the front office to send a message to us this far ahead of the deadline, to try to get us some help in the bullpen, I think it’s one of those situations where in April and May, the bullpen as a whole had a really heavy workload,” Doolittle told the Washington Post. “You saw Madson and Kintzler land on the DL because of that. It’s almost their way of saying, ‘Here’s some help. Here’s some reinforcements.'”

Madson allowed two home runs in Sunday’s loss to Toronto and Kintzler is out with a right forearm flexor strain.

Doolittle picked up the save Monday against the Yankees in the completion of a suspended game and has succeeded in 19 of 20 chances, posting a 1.37 ERA.

“For me Sean Lee Cowboys Jersey , we have an all-star closer right now,” manager Dave Martinez said. “So (Herrera) will be asked to do some different things.”

On Monday, the Nationals and Yankees finally completed their two-game series from May 15-16, splitting the two games.

Washington (38-32) won the suspended game, which resumed in the sixth-inning with score tied 3-3. Rookie Juan Soto, who had not yet made his major league debut when the game originally began in May, clubbed a two-run homer to give Washington a 5-3 win.

New York won the second game 4-2 behind Sonny Gray and scoreless one inning stints from four relievers as the Nationals went 0-for-11 with runners in scoring position.

Baltimore (20-50) sends David Hess (2-3, 4.13) to the mound Tuesday against Jefry Rodriguez (0-0, 0.00).

The Orioles travel down the Baltimore-Washington Parkway on a rare high following Sunday’s 10-4 win over the Miami Marlins.

Baltimore had dropped nine games in a row and had lost 11 straight at home, tying the club record.

The Orioles hadn’t scored more than five runs since a 9-3 win over the White Sox on May 24 in Chicago, a span of 20 games.

“It was difficult for everyone,” Sunday’s starting pitcher Dylan Bundy told the Baltimore Sun. “We know what we are capable of Leighton Vander Youth Esch Jersey , and we’re not doing it right now. It was one of those days where we performed the way we should.”

The Orioles collected 14 hits, six for extra bases. Third baseman Jace Peterson matched his career high with four RBIs, including a two-run homer. Mark Trumbo hit a solo homer and had an RBI-double for Baltimore, which had scored four runs or fewer in 18 of its past 19 games.

“Usually when the team’s struggling as a whole, the pitchers get a little more comfortable on the other side, and they cruise through some of those innings,” Trumbo told the Sun. “It’s important to try and kind of peck away. I’d like to see a whole lot more games that look like this going forward. I think everybody would.”

Hess had been solid before allowing five runs in 3 1/3 innings in his last start, a loss to Boston. He faced the Nationals May 30 and took the loss despite allowing just one run on four hits over six innings.

With starters Stephen Strasburg and Jeremy Hellickson on the disabled list, Rodriguez, 24, will make his first major league start. He is 5-3 with a 3.31 ERA in 13 starts for Double-A Harrisburg.

Memphis Grizzlies coach J.B. Bickerstaff believes he can make the franchise competitive immediately with a quick recovery from a 60-loss season.

That’s what his boss expects as well.

”We’re going into it with an optimistic view and we’re planning on success,” Bickerstaff said Wednesday Sean Lee Jersey , one day after having the interim tag removed from his title . ”We’re planning on a playoff run. There’s no doubt about it.”

The Grizzlies announced Tuesday that Bickerstaff would remain their head coach after he worked the last 63 games of Memphis’ 2017-18 season on an interim basis. Bickerstaff began the 2017-18 season as an associate head coach on the staff of David Fizdale, who was fired in late November .

Memphis went 15-48 under Bickerstaff and finished the season 22-60 , posting the second-worst record in the NBA and ending a string of seven straight playoff appearances. General manager Chris Wallace said he was encouraged by Bickerstaff’s approach during a season derailed by injuries.

”You learn a great deal about people in adversity, much more than watching them while they’re winning,” Wallace said. ”J.B. was given a very difficult task this year when he took over as interim head coach and guided us through some very choppy waters. He kept the team together through very difficult times.”

Wallace also noted the Grizzlies shouldn’t have similar struggles next season.

Veteran guard Mike Conley should be healthy again after injuries to his left heel and Achilles tendon caused him to play just 12 games this year. Memphis’ poor performance this season also assures the Grizzlies an early pick in the NBA draft to join a nucleus that includes Conley and 33-year-old center Marc Gasol.

”Starting next year, we want to get back in the playoffs again and be a relevant team that’s pushing to win the Western Conference and go on,” Wallace said. ”We think we’re well equipped to get back in again. We get Mike Conley healthy. Marc Gasol still has many good years in front of him. We’ve got a number of young players that have come on to develop. We’re going to have a top-five pick. We’re going to be able to use a midlevel exception.

”We’ve got a lot of tools to work with, and a lot of the heavy lifting has already been done.”

Bickerstaff, 39, is happy to have an entire offseason to prepare for his assignment, a luxury he didn’t have in his previous head coaching stints.

He went 37-34 as the Houston Rockets’ interim coach in 2015-16 after Kevin McHale was fired. Then came the interim assignment with Memphis this season. Now he finally gets all the advantages that come with starting a season as a head coach.

”You truly can’t imagine how free and open and clear my mind is now because you have an opportunity to prepare,” said Bickerstaff Harold Landry Jersey , the son of former longtime NBA coach Bernie Bickerstaff. ”You truly can’t imagine how free and open and clear my mind is now because you have an opportunity to prepare. In any situation that you’re going into, especially a high-pressure situation, the most important thing you want to do is have a moment to chart out your journey.”

Bickerstaff said Conley and Gasol give the Grizzlies a pair of ”All-Star-caliber bookends” that make Memphis’ roster different from the typical lottery team. Bickerstaff also praised the way forward JaMychal Green has established himself in the NBA and noted the way younger players such as Jarell Martin, Andrew Harrison and Dillon Brooks developed during a trying season.

He expects Conley to come back with something to prove after an injury-riddled season.

”People have kind of forgotten just how good Mike really is,” Bickerstaff said.

Bickerstaff Bickerstaff hopes the ball-handling abilities of Harrison, MarShon Brooks, Wayne Selden and Chandler Parsons could enable Conley to play off the ball on occasion next season. Parsons has dealt with his own injury issues, as he’s played a total of 70 games in two seasons with Memphis.

”We’d like to put (Conley) in more situations where he’s a secondary ball handler or a secondary playmaker, and the defense has shifted and all 10 eyes defensively aren’t just keyed in on him,” Bickerstaff said.

From the outside world, NBA players may only be looking for some fun, or the self-defense skills to protect themselves, but this is not the case. Today, boxing training has become one of the most common training methods for NBA players. Duncan kept a good state of boxing training during the offseason.

In addition, boxing training can also increase the player's endurance, strengthen the foot movement, and increase the player's reaction. If you can continue to complete this training, the player's spiritual will will become more tenacious.

Five games to go with reason to believe playoff soccer may be on the horizon. Authentic Isaac Yiadom Jersey . Toronto FC saved their season last Saturday in a dramatic 3-2 come-from-behind victory over the Portland Timbers. Sixty minutes of poor play turned into 30-plus minutes of inspired football from the home side, keeping Toronto in the playoff hunt. A loss or a draw wouldnt have mathematically washed away playoff hopes. But the psychological lift a big win against a difficult opponent provided is invaluable for a team that has experienced more lows than highs in recent months. The win over Portland was the ultimate high: a much needed shot in the arm for a team and fanbase that has become accustomed to self-loathing and expecting the worse. The three-second half goals and ultimately three points stand as arguably the most important in the eight-year life of the franchise. The noise in the stadium and lasting buzz after the final whistle can only be compared with Danny Dichios first goal in franchise history and the seat cushions thrown in celebration. The biggest win in franchise history? Sure. Why not? Certainly the most memorable and meaningful. Toronto played just about as bad as they could over the first half of the match. Yet despite the mistake-ridden 45, it never felt the game was out of reach. TFC should have had two first half goals with a ball going off the post and Gilberto missing a sitter. As the defensive structure improved, so did the confidence and pressure on the ball. Torontos resiliency ended in three scrappy goals, trademark of a character team. It was the second time in team history TFC came back from a 2-0 deficit. Forget the negative headlines of recent weeks, this Toronto FC team now has the most wins and points they have ever had in franchise history. Next step: playoffs. Toronto FC sits in sixth place in the Eastern Conference, just one point back of the New York Red Bulls with a game in hand. Most important, Toronto FC remains in control of its own playoff destiny. Here are my Five Thoughts ahead of Saturday nights (10:30pm et/7:30pm pt) Los Angeles Galaxy-Toronto FC match-up. 1) Redemption a€“ Nick Hagglund and Toronto FCs back four had as bad of a first 45 minutes imaginable against Portland. The rookie centre-half was culpable on the first goal against, far too casual in distribution giving away the ball to gift Portland the opener. The Timbers could have scored more than twice in the opening half, carving up an unbalanced and unsure defensive unit. It was painful to watch to the point it made sense for the manager to make changes. Vanney stuck to his guns, entrusting Hagglund and others to sort it out. Vanneys patience was rewarded. It became a tale of two halves. Hagglund was standout in the second half: aggressive, instinctual and tidy, over-powering and out-playing a talented Timbers frontline. Fanendo Adi left the field looking as if he had been through a war, with former Reds striker Maximillano Urruti playing the role of spectator upon his second half introduction. Hagglunds two headed goals (the first of his young career) meant redemption for the 22-year-old, all within 90 minutes of football. The goals were timely, but his passionate, character performance in the second half will also be memorable. Overcoming in-match adversity is difficult for the most experienced player. Hagglund continues to prove hes more than capable alongside Steven Caldwell. At this point he seems a preferable option over Doneil Henry at the position. Its a matter of consistency, not talent. 2) Midfield Mash-up a€“ Its decision-time for Vanney with a full compliment of midfielders at his disposal for the trip out west. Collen Warner (hamstring) and Jackson (suspension) are both available for selection. Its a positive dilemma for the manager to have. Michael Bradley is the only player guaranteed a spot in the starting XI. Vanney may choose to re-insert Warner alongside Bradley, although the duo has lacked cohesion, playing similar roles causing imbalance through the middle. The Bradley-Warner combination however may be preferable against a very good attacking side. Jonathan Osorio will look to keep his place, being a better fit in a more attacking role down the middle. Osorio was unable to influence the match against Portland as Toronto was out-matched and out-numbered in the midfield for long-stretches. Kyle Bekker came on in the 75th minute and was an immediate factor, giving his manager something to think about going forward. The decision on the wings isnt much easier. Dominic Oduro was solid in the start, as was Daniel Lovitz who continues to improve. Jackson is another option and may be preferred to Oduro. The Brazilian was the best player on the field 10 days ago against Chivas before losing composure and being sent off. Hes more reliable defensibly than Oduro, which may lead to a prompt return to the starting line-up despite drawing the ire of Vanney. Dwayne De Rosario and Andrew Wiedeman are other options, although both will most likely remain on the periphery. Both were positive substitutions in the comeback win. Vanney has options. Its up to the inexperienced manager how to use them best. 3) Forward Planning a€“ Vanney likewise has difficult decisions to make up front with Jermain Defoe likely available. Defoe last played August 23, sidelined with a groin injury. Luke Moore and Gilberto have grown in confidence in Defoes absence but have only combined for two goals in the six games missed by the star forward. Defoe still leads Toronto in scoring by four goals (11) despite appearing in just 16 matches. Defoe will play if fit, but the question begs when and how much? Perhaps Vanney takes a cautious approach against the Galaxy. It will be a tough game in Los Angeles and Vanney may think its not worth risking Defoe from the start with more winnable games ahead. If Saturdays game remains close, Defoe could then come on as a second half sub and attempt to play difference-maker. This is the most likely scenario. If Defoe is fit to start, then Moore should make way. Moore has looked less lively than Gilberto, with the pace of the Brazilian causing problems for the opposition. However, the Defoe-Moore partnership was a more effective pairing early this season. There is plenty to think about. If Gilberto were more consistent in front of goal, the decision would be a no-brainer. As a Designated Player, this should be Gilbertos time to shine. 4) Out of this Galaxy a€“ Torontos final regular season match against a Western Conference opponent comes against arguably the best. No team is hotter in MLS, undefeated in their last nine, scoring 28 goals in the process. The strike force of Robbie Keane and Gyasi Zardes is the most dangerous in MLS, scoring a combined 33 goals. The Landon Donovan retirement tour rolls on, with the all-time great adding 10 goals and an incredible 18 assists along the way. No question this will be the Toronto back fours stiffest test yet. The Galaxy have already qualified for the MLS playoffs and are pushing for the Supporters Shield, level on points (57) with the Seattle Sounders. The Galaxy are tops in MLS in goals for (63) and have the best defensive record (31) as well. Add it all up and a draw would be massive on the most difficult away match yet. Temper expectations. Litmus test, coming up. 5) Eastern Promise a€“ Scoreboard watching is inevitable this time of year. The Chicago Fire did Toronto a favour Thursday, drawing the Philadelphia Union 1-1. The Union has played two games more and remain one point back of Toronto. Good news. Two other huge Eastern Conference match-ups are worth following Saturday. The Red Bulls host the Houston Dynamo, who also remain in the playoff mix. Its a must-win game for the Dynamo, five points back of their opponent heading in. New York leads Toronto by one point for the final playoff spot, as previously mentioned. Elsewhere the surging New England Revolution host the Columbus Crew in a battle of two teams Toronto is chasing. The Revs moved into second place in the conference on 45 points last weekend after a big 3-2 win over Sporting Kansas City, also on 45 points. The Crew is in fourth on 43 points. The hope is New England continues to roll, as the sooner the Revs lock up a playoff berth the better. Toronto FC pays a trip to New England in their final game of the season. A meaningless game for the Revs would set up well for the travelling Reds who will most likely go down to the wire in their playoff push. You can listen to Los Angeles Galaxy v. TORONTO -- Toronto Marlies goaltender Drew MacIntyre had a bad taste in his mouth following last seasons second round exit to the Grand Rapids Griffins. The 30-year-old goalie has been stellar in this years Calder Cup playoffs and as he did in the first-round clinching game, MacIntyre posted a 30-save shutout on Friday as Toronto blanked the Chicago Wolves 4-0. The Marlies swept their best-of-seven series with Chicago and advanced to the Western Conference final for the second time in three seasons. "Ill take anything in a clinching game as long as its a win," said MacIntyre, who has back-stopped the Marlies to a perfect 7-0 record while posting a 1.85 goals-against average. "Tonight the guys were amazing. We battled and battled. The third period we stuck to our game plan and we didnt give them anything." Greg McKegg, Carter Ashton and Peter Holland scored for Toronto, while Korbinian Holzer added an empty-net goal with 4.7 seconds remaining. Heading into Game 4, Marlies coach Steve Spott put forward Sam Carrick on the teams top line with Holland and Ashton in place of a struggling Spencer Abbott. The move paid off as the line combined for five points in the win. "Just trying to find different chemistry. Spencer, since hes come back from his (shoulder) injury, probably isnt where he wants to be or where we need him to be," said Spott. "Just trying to find a different adjustment and obviously make it a little bit tougher on opposing coaches for line match ups. "Some times you get it right. Sammy Carrick, weve talked about Sam a lot this year and there he is again on our first line. Hes had a heck of a year so far." Jake Allen stopped 25 shots for Chicago. McKegg opened the scoring at 7:51 of the first, beating Allen with a wrist shot from the top of the face-off circle for his third of the playoffs. Frazer McLaren and T.J. Brennan drew assists on the goal for Toronto, who have scored first in all seven playoff games to date. Abbott nearly made it 2-0 at 9:31 of the first, on a Marlies power play, as his point shot got behind Allen, but hit the post. The goal light and horn went off, but following video review, it was determined the puck did not cross the goal-line. Cheap Denver Broncos Jerseys. Chicago had an excellent chance to find the equalizer late in the first with a 35-second two-man advantage. Wolves leading scorer Dmitrij Jaskin one-timed a Keith Aucoin pass but MacIntyre got just enough of it to keep it out. "Drew was real solid, he played to the level that we need him to play at and we knew that they were going to come, they pressed hard in the second period and he made a couple of outstanding saves," said Spott. "That short 5-on-3 where we needed him to be great, he stood tall and really gave us that emotion and life we needed." Ashton made it 2-0 at 2:46 of the second period blowing a slap shot, off a Carrick feed, past Allen for his second of the playoffs. Adam Cracknell had a good chance to get Chicago on the board at 4:42 of the second, from in close, but put his shot just wide. Carrick sprung Holland on a breakaway at 7:09 of the third period and the centre made no mistake beating Allen glove-side for his fourth of the playoffs. "(Carrick) works hard. Hes going to go get the puck, but hes also got good vision too, hes going to find you and I love playing with guys like that," said Holland. Added Carrick: "They both have NHL experience so I just try to keep things simple out there and play my game, go to the net hard and let them make the plays." Toronto now awaits the winner of the Texas-Grand Rapids series to determine their next opponent. The Western Conference Final is expected to start next weekend. The Marlies were a perfect 4-0-0 against the Griffins, the defending Calder Cup champion, during the regular season while going 2-1-0 in three meetings with the Stars. Notes: Marlies defenceman Andrew MacWilliam missed the game due to an upper body injury suffered in Wednesdays game. Kevin Marshall took the place of MacWilliam in the Marlies lineup. Spott said MacWilliam would benefit from the week off prior to the third round and should play in Game 1. Forward Frazer McLaren dressed in place of David Broll on Torontos fourth line. RENTON, Wash. Youth Bears Jerseys . - Within their inner circle, Seattle Seahawks coach Pete Carroll, general manager John Schneider and staff quietly speculated that their 2012 draft class would be special, despite the critics derision.Outsiders were dismissive of linebacker Bobby Wagner, a former two-star recruit from tiny Utah State; undersized quarterback Russell Wilson, who had to transfer from North Carolina State to start as a senior; and Bruce Irvin, a high school dropout who had bounced around junior colleges before landing at West Virginia. In small circles, behind closed doors, we talked about that this could be the one. This could be the draft class that could really make the difference, Carroll said.Sometimes that group of draftees — six of whom are on the Seattle active roster — reminisce about the failing grades their class received. The players have Super Bowl rings and are about to play in their second straight NFC championship game on Sunday when they host Green Bay.Irvin, the first-round pick, was a stunner no one expected to go that early and many believed would never develop into an every-down player. Critics said second-round selection Wagner never faced elite competition in college. And Wilson, Seattles much disputed third-round pick ... well, listing all the criticism that pick received would take too long.We look at that type of stuff. We look at that class, weve got seven, eight guys that are key contributors right now, Irvin said. I dont know man, I dont know who grades that type of stuff. Were just going to continue to prove everybody wrong.Great drafts have anchored championship teams in the past. Arguably the best draft class was the 1974 Pittsburgh Steelers with Lynn Swann, Jack Lambert, John Stallworth and Mike Webster, all Hall of Famers. The Cowboys took Mel Renfro, Bob Hayes and Roger Staubach in the 1964 draft. More recently, Baltimores selection of Jonathan Ogden and Ray Lewis in 1996 proved invaluable to its first title.Seattles roster has been built a variety of ways. First-round gems, like safety Earl Thomas and left tackle Russell Okung, both taken in 2010, are joined by late-round steals including safety Kam Chancellor, picked in the fifth round the same year. A year later linebacker K.J. Wright was a fourth-round pick, followed by All-Pro cornerback Richard Sherman in the fifth and starting cornerback Byron Maxwell in the sixth. And there are the undrafted free agents Seattle has unearthed, most notably starting wide receivers Doug Baldwin and Jermaine Kearse. But no group of additions to Seattles roster has matched the importance of the 2012 draft.Everyone told us we werent going to be any good. Weve heard that a lot, Wilson said. No matter what anybody tells you, you have to be a self-motivator. Thats what we have in the 2012 class of the Seattle Seahawks. Theyre all self-motivators. We all believe in each other, we all believe in ourselves, and weve all kind of just pushed each other. When we first got here, I know we had a 2012 meeting and kind of told the guys I want to be the best class theres ever been here. Thats kind of been our mindset. The majority of notoriety from the 2012 class has gone to Wilson and Wagner. Wilson has started every game in his three seasons and is in line for a massive payday, while Wagner has become an elite inside linebacker and was first-team All-Pro this season despite missing five games. But the depth found in that class is what sets them apart. Irvin is Seattles starting strongside linebacker, proving he was more than just a pass rusher. Fourth-round pick Robert Turbin is the backup to Marshawn Lynch. Sixth-round pick Jeremy Lane has been Seattles nickel cornerback when healthy. And the real late-round steal of the group? Guard J.R. Sweezy, a defensive tackle in college that has developed into one of Seattles most consistent offensive linemen.Weve always remembered the way they talked about us when we got drafted and what not, Sweezy said. We kind of knew what we were going to do. We kept our heads down and got to work. Now were seeing the product of all of that and its fun to be part of it.___AP NFL website: www.pro32.ap.org and www.twitter.com/AP_NFL Discount Bears Jerseys . The Maple Leafs have been up-and-down so far this season and hope to end a two-game slide tonight, Toronto lost two straight in regulation to begin 2014-15 and then won two in a row before getting swept in a home-and-home series against Detroit. Jonathan Bernier will get the start between the pipes for the Leafs. Toronto lost 4-1 in Fridays home test against the Red Wings and dropped a 1-0 overtime decision in Saturdays rematch. Henrik Zetterberg scored the game- winning goal with 10 seconds left in overtime to give Detroit the home victory. Zetterberg, who had four assists in the previous nights meeting, took a crisp cross-ice pass from Niklas Kronwall in the slot and slapped a shot off the right post past Jonathan Bernier to give Detroit its second win over Toronto in as many nights. Bernier made 31 stops for the Maple Leafs, who lost their fourth straight game against the Red Wings. I thought he made some outstanding saves when we made mistakes, Toronto head coach Randy Carlyle said. (Bernier) stood tall. Bernier is 1-1-1 with a 3.65 GAA in three career games against the Isles, while backup James Reimer is 4-2-1 with a 3.42 GAA in this matchup. The Islanders matched their best start to a season in franchise history with a 4-0 mark, but were dealt their first loss in Saturdays road game against the Pittsburgh Penguins. New York scored the first goal on Saturday, but still dropped a 3-1 decision to the Penguins. Evgeni Malkin tied the score late in the second period and Patric Hornqvist tallied twice to arrive at the final margin. Thomas Hickey scored the lone goal for the Islanders and Jaroslav Halak allowed two goals on 37 shots in defeat. New York failed to score on all seven of its power-play chances in the loss, while the Penguins scored twice on four power plays. We had opportunities too and we didnt capitalize, Islanders head coach Jack Capuano said. They did and thats the difference in the game. Halak expects to start again in net and is 7-2-3 with a 2.79 goals against average in 13 career games against Toronto. The Isles played Saturday without former Maple Leafs forward Mikhail Grabovski, who has been diagnosed with a concussion. The Russian veteran suffered the head injury Thursday against San Jose and is out indefinitely. New York went 2-1-0 against the Leafs last season, winning the final two meetings of 2013-14. The Isles have claimed five of seven in the series overall, but Toronto has three wins in the past four meetings at the Coliseum. In other news for Toronto, rookie forward Brandon Kozun will be sidelined a minimum of six weeks with a high ankle sprain suffered in Fridays game against Detroit. The 24-year-old has one assist through five games this season. The Winnipeg Jets arent too concerned with how pretty their victories look, just as long as they keep piling up. Bryan Trottier Penguins Jersey . Attempting to win five straight for the first time in two seasons tonight, the Jets take on a Columbus Blue Jackets team thats looking to sweep a three-game trip heading into the All-Star break. You can listen to the game live on TSN Radio 1290 Winnipeg at 6:30pm ct. Though Winnipeg (25-14-8) blew a two-goal, third-period lead Sunday, Bryan Little prevented a full-on collapse by scoring the only shootout goal in a 4-3 win over Arizona. Wed rather not win that way and give up leads, but at the same time we are still managing to get wins and we are still managing to stick with it and come away (with points), said Little, who scored in regulation for the second straight game and has 16 points in his last 14. Owners of the top wild-card spot in the Western Conference, the Jets current 5-0-1 run marks the fourth time this season theyve earned at least a point in five consecutive contests. There was a lot of good in this block (of games), said coach Paul Maurice, whose team has totaled 27 goals in the last six. Keying that stretch have been Michael Frolik with six points and defenseman Dustin Byfuglien - the Jets lone All-Star representative in Columbus this weekend - with three goals and six assists. They have Winnipeg in position to win five in a row for the first time since April 6-18, 2013. I think we are on a roll and we want to keep going, said Frolik, who has two goals in the past three games. Winnipeg won 4-2 in Columbus on Nov. 25 in the teams only meeting as Evander Kane scored twice while Little and Andrew Ladd each had a goal with an assist. The Jets, however, have been outscored 15-6 during a four-game home skid to Columbus (20-21-3), which recorded three of those victories in Atlanta. Mark Letestu had two goals and James Wisniewski added two assists in a 6-3 win in the Blue Jackets only trip to Winnipeg on Jan. 11 last year. Wisniewski had the go-ahead goal and two assists Monday at Minnesota as Columbus scored twice in the third period to win 3-1, just as it did two nights earlier in Boston. Those two victories followed a four-game slide during which the Blue Jackets totaled seven goals. Weve been having more of a game plan of making it a battle in front of their net. Forwards going there and just throwing pucks there, Wisniewski said. Coming out with two victories is a huge accomplishment. Wisniewski has a goal with six assists in his last six games versus Winnipeg. All-Star Sergei Bobrovsky, who snapped a four-game losing streak Monday, has stopped 49 of 52 shots in two starts after posting a 4.05 goals-against average in his previous three. Bobrovsky, who made 28 saves against Winnipeg in November, is 0-3-1 with a 4.33 GAA in his last five starts against the Jets franchise and allowed five goals three times. Fellow All-Star Ryan Johansens 13-game point streak (eight goals, eight assists) ended Monday, but he has three goals and two assists in four games versus Winnipeg. Xavier Henry, the fourth player to start at point guard this season for coach Mike DAntoni, scored 21 points and the Lakers began another long stretch without their 15-time All-Star by beating the Minnesota Timberwolves 104-91 Friday night. Bryant is expected to miss at least six weeks because of a fracture in his left knee, which occurred Tuesday night at Memphis when he fell to the court late in the third quarter of the Lakers 96-92 win. The NBAs fourth all-time leading scorer finished that game, hitting a clutch 3-pointer to help seal the win. But an MRI on Thursday revealed the injury. Bryant missed the first 19 games of the season while recovering from surgery to repair a torn Achilles tendon, an injury that occurred on April 12 -- with two games left before the playoffs. "It just prepared us," Henry said. "I mean, we started without him, and right now unfortunately were without him again. But we know we can play. We know we can win games, and we have the confidence that we have other people that can do the job." The Lakers returned from a 2-2 road trip and ended a three-game home losing streak. Pau Gasol, the only player to start all 26 games for the Lakers, had 21 points, 13 rebounds and eight assists. Reserve Nick Young scored 25 points, including a 4-point play that gave the Lakers a lead after Corey Brewer fouled him behind the arc with 2:37 left in the third quarter. "We played to our strengths," Henry said. "I mean, me and Nick can attack them in different ways. Jodie Meeks can shoot it, and weve got a guy like Pau whos a really good playmaker." Bryant, who last month signed a two-year, $48.5 million contract extension at age 35, made his return Dec. 8 and played just six games -- all in 10 days. The 18-year veteran averaged over 32 minutes in the last three while shifting to point guard because of injuries to Steve Nash, Steve Blake and Jordan Farmar. The 39-yeear-old Nash, a two-time MVP who hasnt played since Nov. Mark Recchi Penguins Jersey. 10 because of back and hamstring issues, has played as many games as Bryant -- and will remain sidelined at least four more weeks with nerve root irritation in his back. Blake missed his fifth game because of a torn ligament in his right elbow, and Farmar sat out his eighth due to a torn left hamstring. DAntoni used his 11th starting lineup, and Henry shot 8 for 19 and had four assists in 42 minutes. As a team, the Lakers had 27 assists despite the absence of a bona fide point guard. "They understand the moment and they understand that this is their opportunity," DAntoni said. Kevin Love scored 20 of his 25 points in the first half and grabbed 13 rebounds for Minnesota, but was held scoreless in the fourth quarter. The Lakers broke open a tight game with 3-pointers by Gasol and Young to help extend their lead to 100-91 with 2 minutes remaining. They outscored Minnesota 9-0 over the final 3:18. Nikola Pekovic had 22 points and 13 boards, but Brewer finished with just five points after missing all eight field goal attempts. Point guard Ricky Rubio missed the morning shootaround because he wasnt feeling well. He played 30 minutes, finishing with six points, seven assists and six rebounds. Love powered the Timberwolves to a 53-51 halftime lead, fueling an 18-3 run with seven points in a 1:50 span to help turn an 11-point deficit into a 51-47 lead in the final minute of the second quarter. "No energy. We have to be better than that," Minnesota coach Rick Adelman said. "They outworked us all night long. It was a poor game on our part. " NOTES: Henry was the 12th overall pick in the 2012 draft, by Memphis. His older brother C.J. was the 17th overall pick in the 2005 baseball draft, by the Yankees. ... This is the first time since moving from Minneapolis to Los Angeles that the Lakers have failed to go more than a game over .500 through their first 26 games in back-to-back seasons. ... Love has fouled out only once in 313 NBA games. It was against the Lakers on Jan. 30, 2009 -- as a reserve -- in a 132-119 loss at Minnesota. TORONTO -- Toronto starter Mark Buehrle cant recall making a season-opening run quite like the one hes currently enjoying with the Blue Jays. Lucas Nogueira Jersey . The 35-year-old left-hander was in top form again Wednesday night, throwing seven innings of three-hit ball in a 10-0 rout of the Philadelphia Phillies at Rogers Centre. Buehrle (6-1) leads the American League with six victories and his earned-run average dropped to an impressive 1.91. "I dont want to ask too many questions, I dont want to try to figure out whats going on," he said. "Im just going to kind of roll with it and keep it as long as I can." Toronto exploded for nine runs in the seventh inning. Erik Kratz, Juan Francisco and Edwin Encarnacion all homered in the frame as the Blue Jays (17-17) returned to the .500 mark. Sergio Santos and Chad Jenkins completed the three-hit shutout as Toronto extended its winning streak to four games. Philadelphia starter Cliff Lee (3-3) was in form until the seventh, ending his streak of six straight quality starts. "Some balls ended up over the plate and they didnt miss them," said Phillies manager Ryne Sandberg. Buehrle put runners in scoring position on a few occasions but for the most part kept the Philadelphia batters handcuffed by mixing up his pitches and relying on a steady curve ball. "He does what he typically does," said Blue Jays manager John Gibbons. "He keeps them off-balance, throws anything at any time and uses his defence. I dont know if I can describe it any more than that -- again." Gibbons smiled as he made the comment. He was then asked if hes getting tired of describing the steady approach of the reliable veteran, who has already gone into the seventh inning without allowing an earned run on three occasions this year. "All he does is keep winning," Gibbons added. "He does the same thing every time he wins. Just hit rewind." With two quick-working starters on the mound, the game sped along at a quick pace. Lee (3-3) retired the first seven Blue Jays in order before giving up a one-out single to Colby Rasmus in the third inning. Rasmus moved to third base on a ground-rule double by Steve Tolleson and scored on a sacrifice fly by Jose Reyes. The Phillies had threatened an inning earlier but Torontos defence kept them off the board. Marlon Byrd hit a one-out double and Tolleson made a nice play to scoop a slow roller near second base to retire Domonic Brown. Toronto right-fielder Jose Bautista recorded the third out by making a nice running catch at the warning track on a John Mayberry Jr. fly ball. Bautista showed his range again in the sixth inning with a great diving pickup on a sinking Chase Utley liner. Buehrle followed by striking out Carlos Ruiz. The Phillies had a runner on second base in the seventh inning but Buehrle got Cody Asche on a weak grounder for the third out. Encarnacion led off the Toronto half of the seventh with a standup triple. Philadelphia outfielder Ben Revere misplayed the ball, allowing it to bounce off the wall and roll back into centre field. "It looked like he gave up on it and it hit the bottom of the wall," Sandberg said. "Catchable ball. Things unravelled from that point forward. I could imagine there could be some frustration there with Cliff at that point. "He was out there battling and involved in a pitchers duel up to that point." Kratz took the next pitch from Lee into the second deck in left field for his second homer of the season. Dioner Navarro followed with a single and he scored when Franciscos line-drive homer barely cleared the wall in right field. "Just one of those innings where they hit everything," Lee said. "They didnt miss a pitch." Lee was pulled after giving up a one-out double to Tolleson. Mario Hollands came on in relief and threw a wild pitch to Reyes that allowed Tolleson to advance to third. Reyes walked, stole second and moved to third when Cabrera struck out on a wild pitch. The ball got away from Ruiz and Tolleson scored while Cabrera ran to first. The Phillies went to the bullpen for former Blue Jay Shawn Camp, who promptly gave up a single to Bautista. Encarnacion followed with a three-run shot to deep left-centre field for his fourth homer of the year. Kratz singled for his second hit of the inning before Navarro grounded into an inning-ending double play. "They flat out beat us in every way," Lee said. "Shut us out and scored 10 runs. Thats a pretty good beating right there." Notes: Buehrle allowed two walks and struck out six. Lee, meanwhile, allowed seven hits, six earned runs and a walk while striking out six. ...
