Menteri Hukum dan Hak Asasi Manusia (Menkumham) Yasonna Laoly menyebut dalam UU HPP, NIK pada KTP bisa digunakan sebagai Nomor Pokok Wajib Pajak (NPWP) bagi wajib pajak orang pribadi.
“Dengan disahkannya UU HPP, dengan menggunakan NIK sebagai pengganti NPWP orang pribadi, maka akan semakin memudahkan para Wajib Pajak orang pribadi dalam menjalankan hak dan melaksanakan kewajiban perpajakannya, agar penyerapan pajak menjadi efektif” ungkap Yasonna Laoly di Ruang Rapat Paripurna, pada Kamis (7/10/2021).
Yasonna menyebut, tidak semua WNI akan dikenakan pajak penghasilan. Pemerintah tetap memperhatikan pemenuhan syarat subjektif dan objektif untuk membayar pajak.
Dia menambahkan, kriteria wajib pajak akan ditetapkan sesuai yang berlaku saat ini. Artinya, pengenaan pajak tidak serta merta ditujukan untuk masyarakat berusia 17 tahun.
“Apabila orang pribadi mempunyai penghasilan setahun di atas PTKP (penghasilan tidak kena pajak) atau orang pribadi pengusaha mempunyai peredaran bruto di atas Rp 500 juta setahun,” tutur Yasonna.
Sementara itu, Wakil Ketua Komisi IX, Dolfie mengatakan kebijakan NIK sebagai pengganti NPWP juga akan mempermudah pemantauan wajib pajak, serta memaksimalkan pendapatan pajak per tahunnya.
“Maka dari itu, dengan terintegrasinya penggunaan NIK akan mempermudah memantau administrasi wajib pajak Indonesia, khususnya wajib pajak orang pribadi ke depannya,” kata Dolfie.
Dolfie menambahkan, efektifitas pemantauan Wajib Pajak ini terjadi, karena semua masyarakat yang memiliki KTP akan otomatis terdaftar sebagai wajib pajak. Sebab, saat ini tidak semua yang memiliki KTP mendaftarkan diri sebagai wajib pajak secara sukarela.
